Hospice Regatta
The prestigious St. Francis Yacht Club will again host the Hospice Regatta to benefit Sutter VNA & Hospice on July 22-23, 2006. The first regatta to benefit Sutter VNA & Hospice was held in 1998. Winners of this Northern California race have participated in, and won, the National Hospice Regatta Association Championship race, and will participate again in 2007.
The 2006 Regatta coincides with the 100th anniversary of Sutter VNA & Hospice, which was founded in 1906 to help care for those injured in the San Francisco earthquake and fire. The organization went on to found one of the nation's first hospice programs in 1977.
